PINNOCK DISTILLERY

We discovered Pinnock Distillery, truly at the pinnacle of excellence.  On trying their multi award winning Pinnock Warwickshire Dry Gin we were blown away – this uses locally sourced honey, lavender and quince, accompanied by juniper, coriander, angelica, cassia, cardamom seeds, orange peel and cubeb pepper from around the globe – creating a smooth and complex gin with a real kick.

SPIRIT OF ILMINGTON

Producers of an amazing range of distinctive spirits and liqueurs we were spoilt for choice! We tried their hero product, Spirit of Ilmington Apple Brandy and have to agree with Fortnum and Mason that this is a soft mellow brandy with a surprisingly fresh cider nose, warming and refreshing on the palate with a lingering after taste of apple.  We also tried the Cherry and Almond Gin Liqueur – a dry gin enhanced with apple spirit, cherries from the Vale of Evesham and natural almond flavour – delicious.

CHOCOLATE GENIE

Being chocolate lovers, we were intrigued by the amazing array of different, hand crafted products produced by Chocolate Genie.  Specialising in novelty chocolate gifts and chocolate making courses, they certainly are geniuses in creating delicious chocolate and original shapes – we loved the chocolate sheep and the ‘occasion’ discs (which we purchased).

COTSWOLD DISTILLERY

We were pleased to reconnect with the two Ollies at the event and re-sampled the award winning Cotswolds Dry Gin.  This remains a favourite – a delectable blend of nine carefully-considered botanicals, including local lavender, freshly peeled pink grapefruit and lime zest.  We were also reminded that the Distillery tours continue to be extremely popular – Winners of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award Winner and the 2021 VisitEngland ‘Best Told Story’ winner.
