LUDLOW DISTILLERY
We revisited the Ludlow Distillery stand at the show and sampled the Ludlow Single Malt English Whisky – it certainly lives up to its claim as being a serious and perfectly balanced single malt. All Ludlow Distillery’s whiskies are lovingly hand crafted in the Welsh Marshes using only 2 ingredients – English and Scottish malted barley and purified water – the malt having been slowly and gently smoked in a peat kiln. This attention to authenticity was also apparent on sampling which is why we have no hesitation in recommending Ludlow’s whisky range. Interested readers can now also visit the brand’s new Distillery Shop, Bar and Gin School at its Ludlow Farm Shop location.

CHOCOTASTIC
We were delighted to discover Chocotastic, who produce handmade Belgian chocolate products at their business base in Ledbury. Having started the business in 2018, Chocotastic now sell a huge variety of wonderful lines online as well as via the UK wholesalers. We tried their dark and milk chocolate and explored some of their amazing range. The chocolate did not disappoint and some of the gift packs being sold were very impressive – we particularly liked the innovative Musical Instruments Gift Set, real handmade fun and a steal at £14.99.

TIPSY FRUIT GINS LTD
Another great re-discovery. Tenbury Wells based Tipsy Fruit Gins not only produce amazing liqueurs but they also deliver on originality. Firstly we tried their Choc Rumba – this is a unique drink for rum enthusiasts – golden rum infused with South American cocoa nibs giving a good rum kick with a surprising dark bitter chocolate taste – fabulous. They were also presenting several really great gift ideas for Christmas – we loved their Christmas Bauble Gift Box and Christmas Tree box, both of which we had no hesitation in purchasing. Do check out this great company, you won’t be disappointed.

HILLSIDE HOUSE HONEY
Award winning producers Hillside House Honey, based in the Lambourn Valley near Hungerford, presented a terrific array of Honey and beeswax products. We tried their damson flavoured honey and found it to be absolutely delightful – a great combination of flavours with a superior consistency – probably down to the fact that Hillside House do not blend so the honey is as pure as possible – as the bees intended! If this were not enough Hillside House also create wonderful candles – as you will see from the image that accompanies this review.
