Vinotopia Wine Club
We met the well informed Sarah and Jeremy from Vinotopia and they guided us in trying two of the Club’s best sellers – Antech Cremant de Limoux sparkling wine and the Figuiere Mediterranee Rose; the sparkling wine was excellent and a steal at the club price of £11.89, with a ‘bespoke label option’ free of charge on 12 + bottles. Great for celebrating birthdays, weddings etc.
Similarly the Rose was light and well balanced, again well priced at just £9.02. We not only recommend these wines but also membership of the club itself – great value at only £25 per month with average savings of £40 per case of wine.

The Canned Wine Company
With their excellent branding and products this relatively new entry to the canned drinks market really has something to shout about. CEO and founder, Simon Rollings explained that the company is passionate about sharing unique and unusual wines of the highest quality – their award winning wines are single varietal, vintage and are sourced from Europe’s top producers. We tried the new vintage Grenache Rose – as described it is a delightful pink wine with soft aromas of clementine, wild strawberries and butterscotch.

Southern Wines Ltd/Rebel Wine Ltd
It is rare to discover a product which is unique to the UK – MD Rupert St Aubyn explained that Southern Wines is the first company in this country to launch a canned wine with CBD, under the brand Rebel Wine. The new, award winning range (Canex 2020) product range includes the Rebel CBD infused ‘skinny in a tinny’ – is perfect for summer; we tried the rose spritzer which is presented in colourful 200ml cans, infused with 10mg of organic hemp and 100% vegan. As well as being delicious and refreshing the CBD inclusion provides health benefits – as is becoming widely known, CBD extracted from hemp plants has been used for its relaxing and healing qualities for thousands of years and this range is sure to attract consumers who are increasingly looking for natural, safe remedies for the modern problems of stress, anxiety, insomnia and pain.

The Oxton Liqueur Company
It was a pleasure to reconnect with Christopher Eadie, owner, with wife Emily, of The Oxton Liqueur Company. Since we discovered their great liqueurs and beautiful bottles 3 years ago the company has progressed and has won many awards including the World Liqueur Awards (20) for its Elderflower Vodka Liqueur. We tried the latter and it did not disappoint – a delicate and flavoursome taste on the palate and if adding an organic prosecco it would make a splendid ‘Hugo’ cocktail. We also tried the Gold award winning Christmas Vodka Liqueur – stunning – as truly described Christmas in a bottle!

Pine Nut Path
We met with the highly engaging owner, Igor kraljic, who operates this hunting, fishing and tourism delicatessen in Glasgow. We tried the salami venison with truffle and honey oil and it was absolutely delicious. Overall an excellent range of products.
